How to Build Adirondack Chairs

So, I decided to spruce up my backyard with some seating around a fire pit I built.  I found some plans on Ana White's website and decided to try to make them.  I have created 3 different styles of chairs.  I build 2 kids chairs, 1 kids bench, and 2 adult chairs.

Kids Chairs:

These were very simple to make.  You could probably build them for about $30 depending on the type of wood that you want to make.   The chairs I made use 1 x 4's, 1 x 3's and 1 x 4's, screws and glue.  The nice thing about these chairs is that it is easy to adjust the size of the chairs.

Cost - Starting at $65 for 1, $100 for a set.  These are unpainted and made of pine.

Kids Bench:

Follow the same plans as above.  They are just wider.

Cost - Add $10 for the extra width.

Adult Chairs:

These chairs look great for adults.  Instead of using 2 x 4's, I am using 1 x 8's to support the extra weight for the legs.  Then I am using a lot of 1 x 4's and some 1 x 3's.
